Amravati, July 21 -- :A spiritual leader who heads an ashram in Maharashtra's Amravati allegedly raped a woman repeatedly and sexually exploited her over several years, beginning when she was a minor in 2016, officials said on Tuesday.
An FIR was registered on Sunday against Dattagiri Guru Jairamji Maharaj of Anand Math under Section 64(2) (rape) and Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as well as relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, an official said.
The acused is currently absconding and a search has been launched for him, the officials said.
