Buldhana, June 26 -- : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Women and Child Development Department protection officer and a contractual employee for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000, the first instalment of a demanded Rs 24,000, in Maharashtra's Buldhana district, officials said on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Tushar Ramesh Rane, a protection officer posted at Malkapur and holding additional charge of Sangrampur and contractual employee Jagannath Tukaram Bhivate.

According to the ACB, the duo allegedly demanded Rs 24,000 from a complainant to facilitate financial assistance under the Kantijyoti Child Care Scheme for his differently-abled niece and to ensure future benefits under the scheme.
