Satara, Feb. 12 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Satara division, has booked a woman head constable attached to Mhasvad Police Station in Maan tehsil of the district for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 5,000 to release a seized car.
The accused has been identified as Head Constable Neeta Narayan Pale, posted at Mhasvad Police Station.
According to ACB officials, the complainant had approached Pale seeking the release of his car, which had been impounded by Mhasvad police in connection with a criminal case registered against him. It is alleged that Pale had demanded Rs 5,000 for facilitating the vehicle's release.
