Nagpur/Amravati, July 26 -- : As many as 69 tribal students of the Government Tribal Ashram School at Titamba in Dharni tehsil of Melghat in Maharashtra's Amravati district were hospitalised after they allegedly suffered suspected food poisoning following dinner served at the residential school, officials said on Sunday.

The incident occurred late on Saturday when the students began complaining of vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain and dizziness a few hours after consuming their evening meal.

The affected students were immediately shifted to the Dharni Sub-District Hospital for treatment.

Talking to UNI , officials said that among the 69 students hospitalised , 50 are girls and 19 are boys.
