Wardha, Aug. 24 -- : A tragic accident during a "Kawad Yatra" procession near Pulgaon in Maharashtra's Wardha district claimed the life of a young child and left several devotees injured, officials said.
According to reports, the mishap occurred on Monday when a heavy decorative Kawad structure collapsed and crushed Adhiraj Ravi Patil during a processionThe child suffered severe injuries and died on the spot, while the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police and local authorities immediately reached the scene and launched a rescue operation.
Traffic on the route was temporarily disrupted as officials worked to clear the area and assist the victims.
