Gadchiroli, Aug. 6 -- : A bridge connecting to several villages in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district has collapsed following heavy rains, barely three years after its construction , officials said on Thursday.
The Kothi-Koranar bridge over the Bandiya river, inaugurated on August 15, 2023, was opened by then deputy chief minister and Gadchiroli guardian minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The bridge had been named after revolutionary Baburao Shedmake.
Describing the incident as a matter of serious concern, District Collector Avishant Panda ordered an immediate technical investigation into the collapse.
