Pune, Aug. 10 -- The 135th edition of the annual Ganesh festival organised by the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust, regarded as the first public Ganpati festival in India, commenced in a grand manner on the occasion of August Kranti Din today with the traditional Vasa Pujan ceremony.

The traditional Vasa Pujan ceremony of the Ganesh festival pavilion was performed, followed by the unveiling of this year's thematic tableau.

The ceremonial Vasa Pujan at the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Temple was performed by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Krushikesh Rawale, Ashokbhai Shah of Ashok Electricals and festival chief and trustee Punit Balan.

This year, the Trust will present an elaborate tableau, titled 'Shri Ganesh Suvarnadham'. ...
