Mumbai, Aug. 17 -- Powai Police have busted an inter-state gang allegedly cheating parents and students by promising admissions to reputed educational institutions, and arrested 10 persons in connection with the racket, officials said on Monday.
The action followed a complaint by a 47-year-old Powai woman, who alleged that she was cheated of Rs 16.5 lakh on the pretext of securing admission for her son to the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad.
