Chennai, Oct. 24 -- In what could be seen as as victory for the Tamil Nadu government,the Madras High Court today rejected the appeal filed by IT major Infosys seeking to quashthe State-owned TANGEDCO's demand to pay Rs 14.67 crore arrears dues.

A Division Bench comprising Ms Justice Nisha Banu and Mr Justice Jyothi Raman, rejectedthe appeal filed by the Infosys Limited against the TANGEDCO demand of 14.67 crores,representing the outstanding amount payable for commercial activities within the company'sindustrial premises.

Following the dismissal of its plea, Infosys, in line with the court order paid Rs 15,44,88,884.00to TANGEDO today.
