Chennai, July 28 -- The Madras High Court on Tuesday quashed separate cases registered against Virudhunagar Congress LokSabha MP B.Manickam Tagore and BJP Tamil Nadu Unit President Nainar Nagendran over alleged violations of the Model Code of Conduct during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
During the 2024 parliamentary elections, Manickam Tagore contested from the Virudhunagar constituency as a Congress candidate and was elected to the Lok Sabha. Polling was held on April 19. However, the Virudhunagar West Police had registered a case against him, alleging that he continued election campaigning on Facebook on April 18, after the official campaign period had ended.
