Chennai, July 17 -- The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to suspended Sub Registrar Justin Manikandan for facilitating the registration of Palani Temple Mutt land to two private individuals.
Manikandan moved the court seeking bail as he apprehended arrest in the case following registration of FIR and the CB-CID takingover the probe.
Granting the interim bail, the court said he should sign before the Palani police station twice a day till further orders.
Counsel for the petitioner submitted that Since the District Registrar and the Palani Registrar were on leave, Manikandan was asked the perform the Sub Registrar duty as the in-charge. Manikandan has not registered the contentious land and one who ...
