Madhubani, Sept. 11 -- The rich artistic and cultural heritage of Mithila is set to receive renewed recognition and honour at the national level, with the Election Commission of India seeking 50 Madhubani paintings from the Madhubani Painting Institute.
In a letter sent by the Protocol Officer of the Election Commission, the institute has been requested to arrange 50 paintings for official purposes. The Commission has specifically asked for paintings that clearly showcase the traditional art, culture and rich heritage of Madhubani.
The Commission has also requested that priority be given to local artists and artisans associated with the promotion and preservation of Madhubani art while sourcing the paintings. The initiative is expected to...
