Varanasi, March 1 -- A lunar eclipse will take place on Tuesday, March 3, which falls on the full moon day of the Falgun fortnight in Vikram Samvat 2082.

According to religious scriptures, the Sutak period begins nine hours before the start of the lunar eclipse.

As per the tradition of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the temple doors will be closed one and a half hours before the eclipse begins.

Executive Officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra said on Sunday that in Kashi, the eclipse will commence at 5:59 pm and conclude at 6:47 pm on March 3, 2026.

In accordance with tradition, the temple doors will close at 4:30 pm.
