Chandigarh, May 28 -- A Ludhiana-based factory worker who spent years trying his luck through lottery tickets struck a life-changing fortune after winning a Rs 3 crore jackpot in the Sikkim State Lottery, officials said on Thursday.
The winner, identified as 43-year-old Dinesh Kushwaha, originally hails from Bihar's West Champaran district and has been residing in Ludhiana for nearly 25 years. He works at a local garment factory where he reportedly spends close to 12 hours daily doing stitching and sewing work to support his family.
According to lottery officials, Kushwaha purchased a Rs 500 lottery ticket from a lottery outlet near Ghanta Ghar Chowk in Ludhiana at around 2 pm, and by evening, his ticket number 999327 emerged as the winne...
