Lucknow, April 13 -- A special court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Lucknow on Monday sentenced three individuals to life imprisonment for their involvement in an Al-Qaeda-linked terror module case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on each of the convicts.

The verdict was delivered by Special Judge Jainendra Pandey (ADJ-3), who found the accused-Minhaj Ahmed, a resident of Kakori in Lucknow; Musiruddin alias Musir from Madiyaon; and Touhid from Budgam in Jammu & Kashmir-guilty of conspiring to carry out terrorist activities.

According to the court, the trio had engaged in a well-planned criminal conspiracy aimed at executing acts that posed a serious threat to national security.
