Lucknow, June 24 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on Wednesday issued a demolition notice to the owners of the ill-fated building where 15 people were killed in a fire that broke out on Monday.
An investigation has revealed that the building that caught fire was illegal. A demolition order was issued in 2016, but the order was later rescinded.
LDA Vice-Chancellor Prathamesh Kumar stated that the building will be demolished on July 7. The building belongs to Virendra Shukla, owner of the Rameshwaram Institute of Technology and Management College.
