Lucknow, March 10 -- Even after assurances from governnent as well as oil companies, there is a shortage of cooking gas (LPG) in Uttar Pradesh.

In many cities, including Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Gorakhpur, LPG cylinders are not available four-five days after booking. Long queues were witnessed outside gas agencies offices.

In Lucknow, there was a major confrontation on Tuesday, when a consumer alleged that a gas agency employee torn his LPG book.

People waiting for their turn outside an agency in Gorakhpur said, "We''ve been queuing for days. It feels like the situation has returned to what it was 15 to 20 years ago, when we had to wait months for a gas cylinder."However, officials insist there was no need to worry. Lucknow District Suppl...
