Chennai, Oct. 24 -- The Low Pressure area over the Bay, the second in succession, became Well Marked on Saturday morning andit was expected to further intensify in to a Depression later today and concentrate into a Cyclonic Storm on the morning of October 26, promising heavy to very heavy rain in some districts and heavy rains in other regions till Monday.
The Met office has issued a Red Alert for the day for the hilly Nilgiris district, which has been witnessing landslips due to heavy rains and the district administration have appealed to the tourists to avoid visit Udhagamandalam, the Queen of Hill Stations, till October 26.
