Low Pressure Area over Bay persists over same region, to become more marked in 24 hrs

Chennai, Feb. 18 -- The Low Pressure Area over the Bay of Bengal persisted over the sameregion and it would move towares Sri Lanka and become more marked over southwest Bay ofBengal in the next 24 hours promising rains in Coastal and Southern districts of Tamil Nadufrom February 20 to 23.

In an update on Wednesday, the Met office said dry weather prevailed over Tamil Nadu, Puducherryand Karaikal area.

Minimum temperatures rose by 2-3 deg C at isolated places over Tamil Nadu and no large changeover rest of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area.

It said yesterday's Low Pressure Area over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southwest Bayof Bengal persists over the same region at 0830 hrs today.
