Agartala, Aug. 23 -- The intense rainfall in the hilly regions last night caused the water level of the Haora River to rapidly rise, leading to flooding in several low-lying areas of Agartala today, affecting more than 1,000 families.
The Sadar and Jirania subdivisions, particularly areas along the Haora River and Katakhal Canal, have experienced significant effects, with floodwaters invading numerous homes and disrupting daily life for residents.
The administration has escalated rescue and relief operations, deploying several boats for evacuations and involving personnel from the Tripura State Rifles and Tripura Police.
