Bengaluru, March 7 -- BJP leader and Legislative Council LoP Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Saturday alleged that the state government is diverting funds meant for SCSP (Scheduled Caste Sub Plan) and TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) schemes to finance its welfare guarantee programmes, intensifying the political debate over fiscal priorities in Karnataka.
Speaking to media persons here, Narayanaswamy said the ruling party had used the slogan "Uchita, Kachita, Nischita" before coming to power, promising assured welfare delivery. However, he alleged that the government has failed to protect funds meant for SC and tribal welfare and has instead diverted these allocations for guarantee schemes this year as well.
