Bengaluru, June 29 -- Escalating the political battle over the Cauvery water dispute, Karnataka Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka on Monday accused the Congress government of "secretly" releasing Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu despite a weakening monsoon, looming drought conditions and fears of a drinking water crisis in Bengaluru.
In a strongly worded post on X, Ashoka alleged that the Siddaramaiah government had been releasing 2,000 cusecs of water every day from the Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir to Tamil Nadu for the past three days under the guise of meeting drinking water requirements.
