Shimla, July 7 -- Leader of Opposition and former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Tuesday accused the Congress of adopting a "double standard" on issues related to Sanatan Dharma and Lord Ram, alleging that the party was using religion for political gains despite having opposed the construction of the Ram temple in the past.

Talking to mediapersons at the BJP state headquarters before attending the party's core group meeting here, Thakur alleged that the Congress and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had consistently taken a stand against Sanatan traditions and were now visiting temples only for political reasons.
