New Delhi, Aug. 3 -- The Lok Sabha is set to take up the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026 for consideration and passing on Monday, as the government moves ahead with legislation aimed at expanding the strength of the apex court to tackle mounting pendency of cases and improve judicial efficiency.
According to the List of Business of the House, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal will move that the Bill further to amend the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Act, 1956 be taken into consideration and passed.
