New Delhi, July 29 -- The Lok Sabha is scheduled to consider a motion on Wednesday seeking an extension of time for the Joint Committee examining the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2024, which together form the legislative framework for implementing the Centre's proposed "One Nation, One Election" initiative.
According to the List of Business of the Lok Sabha, Bharatiya Janata Party MP and Joint Committee Chairperson P P Chaudhary, along with Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav, will move a motion requesting the House to extend the deadline for submission of the Committee's report.
