New York, June 18 -- Spain winger Victor Munoz is set to join Liverpool after the Premier League club triggered his 40 million euro (46 million U.S. dollar) release clause.
The 22-year-old is currently with Spain at the World Cup after a breakout season with Osasuna, scoring seven goals and providing five assists while impressing with his pace and versatility on both flanks.
Liverpool reportedly sent medical staff to the United States to complete checks on Munoz, who has been managing a calf injury in the buildup to the tournament and did not feature in Spain's0-0 draw with Cabo Verde on Monday.
