Los Angeles, Jan. 29 -- Legendary Entertainment's action adaptation of 'Gundam' is gathering momentum as Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo are attached to lead the project, while 'Sweet Tooth' creator Jim Mickle is set to direct.

The feature has been developed in collaboration with Bandai Namco Filmworks, the rights holder behind the iconic franchise. Mickle will also produce with his partner, Linda Moran, through their production company Nightshade. Centineo is also producing with his partner Enzo Marc, reportd DEADLINE.

Story details are being kept tightly under wraps, but the film represents a landmark moment for the franchise: its first-ever live-action theatrical feature. Until now, Gundam's only experiment in live action was the 1999...
