Kolkata, Nov. 10 -- Liquor prices across West Bengal are set to rise ahead of the New Year, with the state government announcing a fresh hike in excise duty effective from December 1, 2025.
The decision, notified recently by the state Excise Department, will increase taxes on all categories of liquor both Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and country spirits except beer.
According to the notification, all manufacturers, distributors, and wholesale traders have been instructed to sell existing stock at old rates by November 30. After that date, no liquor can be sold at pre-revision prices.
