Kolkata, May 29 -- A fresh controversy erupted at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital after a video purportedly showing a Group D employee consuming liquor and having a biryani party inside the hospital's emergency department went viral on social media.
The video triggered sharp reactions and raised fresh questions over discipline and security inside the institution.
Reacting to the controversy on Friday, Kashipur-Belgachhia MLA and member of the hospital's Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Ritesh Tiwari, said the RG Kar issue was not confined only to the much-discussed Abhaya case and that a comprehensive probe into various alleged irregularities at the hospital would be conducted.
