Srinagar, Oct. 31 -- Hours after Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that absence of statehood should not be used as an excuse for development by the elected government, J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdulla hit back saying the it was under LG's control that 26 people were killed in Pahalgam.

He said the Pahalgam attack has severely hit the trade and tourism.

"The sale of handicrafts is not happening. Our taxis, houseboats, are empty. Why? Because there was an attack in Pahalgam. Who is responsible for the security here? Not me. If it was in my hands, we never have allowed this to happen in Jammu and Kashmir," Omar said while addressing a gathering.
