New Delhi, March 30 -- : Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, on Monday visited the Bhalswa Landfill to review ongoing bioremediation and waste management efforts, emphasising the need for faster adoption of global technologies and stronger safety measures.

During the visit, Sandhu was accompanied by Sanjeev Khirwar, Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and other senior officials, who briefed him on the progress of biomining operations and overall landfill management.

While acknowledging significant improvements in reducing the waste burden over the past year, the lieutenant governor stressed that more needs to be done to achieve visible and lasting results.
