Srinagar, March 3 -- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a series of security meetings in Srinagar and directed officers to remain on high alert to ensure public peace and tranquillity.

Kashmir has been witnessing widespread protests since last three days over the killing of Iranian Supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha, who oversees security operations in the union Territory, chaired a high-level meeting of senior police and civil administration officials at the Police Control Room, Kashmir, to review the law and order situation.
