Srinagar, Aug. 12 -- The Jammu and Kashmir administration has revised and consolidated the norms governing ex-gratia relief for people affected by law and order disturbances, fixing compensation of up to Rs 25 lakh for certain categories of personnel killed in such incidents.
The General Administration Department (GAD), in an order issued on August 10, superseded its earlier order of 2025 and notified fresh provisions covering police personnel, defence and Central Armed Police Forces personnel, government employees and civilians.
Under the revised norms, the next of kin of a domicile defence personnel or Central Armed Police Forces personnel killed in Jammu and Kashmir or outside the union Territory will be entitled to Rs 25 lakh.
