Pune, Aug. 9 -- Frequent sightings of a leopard in the Charholi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad have sparked concern among residents, with many fearing for their safety.

Despite rapid urbanisation and the construction of several residential buildings in the area, leopard movement has reportedly been observed repeatedly near inhabited localities.

Residents have urged the Forest Department to go beyond routine patrolling and implement concrete preventive measures to address the situation.

Locals have demanded the installation of camera traps at strategic locations to monitor and trace the leopard, along with increased night patrols by forest officials.

Particular concern has been expressed over the safety of children, women and senior citizens....
