Lakhimpur Kheri, March 24 -- A leopard was captured by villagers in Lohra village under Belakala Gram Panchayat in the Majhgai area of Lakhimpur Kheri district after it attacked two people working in a field on Tuesday afternoon.

According to reports, the leopard, which had been roaming in the area for several days, suddenly attacked two farmers-identified as Bablu (38) and Ram Naresh (44)-while they were working in a sugarcane field. Hearing their cries, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and managed to rescue them.

In a dramatic turn of events, the villagers surrounded the leopard, subdued it using sticks, and eventually tied it up with ropes to bring the situation under control.
