Dharamshala, July 9 -- The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kangra, on Thursday organised a plantation drive at Sarah village near Dharamshala as part of the month-long plantation and environmental conservation campaign being conducted across Himachal Pradesh from July 1 to 31 under the directions of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
The programme was inaugurated by Kangra DLSA Chairman and District & Sessions Judge Chirag Bhanu Singh, who planted a peepal sapling after a traditional soil worship ceremony. More than 80 saplings of indigenous species, including peepal, arjun, shisham, amla, jamun and reetha, were planted during the event.
