Kolkata, March 5 -- Leaders and supporters of the Left Front continued their overnight sit-in outside the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Kolkata on Thursday, demanding a meeting with CEO Manoj Agarwal and alleging large-scale irregularities in the voter list revision process.
The protest began on Wednesday after a march from the Tea Board office to the CEO's office, both in central Kolkata, where leaders of the CPI(M) and other Left parties sought to submit a memorandum directly to Agarwal. However, they were reportedly asked to hand over the memorandum to a subordinate officer as the CEO did not meet them.
