Beirut, June 26 -- The death toll from Israeli military operations in Lebanon has risen to 4,230 since the country's parallel conflict with the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia started on March 2, according to updated figures released on Thursday by Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health.

As per the ministry, over 19 additional deaths had been recorded since its previous update, with the number of injured also increasing by six to 12,179.

The latest figures came post the introduction of new mechanism by the US which was designed to independently monitor incidents along the Israel-Lebanon front, amid efforts to preserve the fragile ceasefire linked to the wider US-Iran memorandum of understanding.
