Beirut, June 5 -- Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in a rare and direct rebuke of Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem, said that he doesn't represent the Lebanese people, directly saying "the Lebanese people are not your people," in an interview with CNN.
Qassem, who had rejected the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire reached Wednesday had called the agreement akin to "surrender," and said that the truce was rejected in its "entirety by broad segments of the Lebanese people."Aoun said that he had spoken to the people from across Lebanon's different religious sects, including Shiites, with all of them unanimously stating that they were "fed up" with the Iran-backed Islamist militia's war with Israel.
