Shillong, Aug. 31 -- Lawyers across Meghalaya have resolved to abstain from judicial work starting September 1, intensifying their demand for the removal of Advocate General Amit Kumar over his alleged remarks against the legal fraternity and other issues relating to the state's handling of legal affairs.
The decision was taken at a joint executive committee meeting the High Court of Meghalaya Bar Association (HCMBA) and the Shillong Bar Association (SBA) held on Monday, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the joint general body of all bar associations in the state on August 24.
