Rampur, Feb. 11 -- A 45-year-old lawyer was shot dead inside the Rampur District Panchayat office on Wednesday afternoon following a dispute with a clerk.
The deceased has been identified as Farooq, a practicing advocate for nearly 30 years. The accused is Asghar Ali, a clerk at the district panchayat office.
According to reports, Farooq's wife, Gausia, who also works as a clerk in the same office, had an argument with Asghar Ali earlier in the day. Around 1 pm, she reportedly called her husband to the office. Farooq went to Asghar's cabin, where a heated exchange escalated into a physical altercation.
Farooq's nephew, Kamran Khan, alleged that Asghar Ali shot Farooq during the argument and later injured himself to create a defense. Asgh...
