Siliguri, June 4 -- An advocate has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Police Station in West Bengal's Siliguri city seeking registration of an FIR against former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over certain public statements allegedly made by her at political gatherings and media interactions.

Advocate Rinku Chatterjee Singh, a practising lawyer at the Calcutta High Court's Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench, submitted the complaint on Wednesday evening, alleging that Banerjee made provocative and inflammatory remarks against constitutional institutions, including the Election Commission of India and Central Armed Police Forces deployed during elections.
