Nagpur, Nov. 3 -- Renowned lawyer Asim Sarode's licence to practice law has been suspended for three months by the Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council.
The Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council made this decision today. The committee, headed by Advocate Vivekanand Ghatge, issued this directive.
Sarode had made objectionable remarks at a public event about the judiciary, the Governor and the Speaker of the Assembly. Because of that, action has been taken against him.
A complainant alleged that those remarks had disrespected the judiciary and created distrust in the courts.
The complainant stated that Sarode's remarks were unbecoming, irresponsible and defamatory.
