Lawngtlai, April 15 -- With reports of a deadly measles outbreak in neighbouring Bangladesh raising concern, the Lawngtlai district administration on Tuesday convened a high-level preparedness meeting to fortify preventive measures and safeguard public health, particularly in vulnerable border areas.

The meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner's office chamber, was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga, who underscored the urgency of proactive intervention in light of the evolving situation across the international border. Citing reports that over a hundred lives have already been lost to measles in Bangladesh, he stressed that complacency could prove costly for the district.
