Hyderabad, Aug. 31 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today said that thelaw introduced by the then BRS government in 2018 has now become a hurdle in implementing enhanced reservations for the weaker sections in local bodies.

Speaking in the Legislative Assembly during a debate on the Municipal and Panchayat Raj Act Amendment Bill, the Chief Minister said the BRS government had enacted the Panchayat RajAct in 2018 and the Municipal Act in 2019, both of which stipulated that elections should be conducted within the 50 per cent reservation cap.

"The very law brought by KCR has now become a dead end," Revanth Reddy remarked, while urging BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar not to mislead the people with false statements.
