Bhubaneswar, May 9 -- Activists of the youth and student wings of the Biju Janata Dal on Friday staged a noisy protest march and gheraoed the residence of the Chief Minister here and demanded his resignation, over what they alleged was complete breakdown of the law and order situation in Odisha.
The agitation was organised by the Biju Yuva Janata Dal and the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal under the direction of BJD president Naveen Patnaik, a statement issued by the regional party said.
The demonstration was led by BYJD president Chinmay Sahu and BCJD leader Ipsita Sahu, with a large number of youth and student activists participating in the protest and raising slogans against the state government over rising crime and public safety concerns.
