Pune, May 3 -- Stressing the importance of laughter in everyday life, Pune Book Festival chief organiser Rajesh Pandey on Sunday said that the laughter movement should grow into a mass public movement as it offers several scientifically proven physical and mental health benefits.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a special programme organised on the occasion of World Laughter Day by the Navchaitanya Hasya Yog Parivar, founded by Vitthal Kate and Suman Kate.
The organisation currently operates around 250 laughter clubs with nearly 25,000 members.
