Narasaraopet, May 31 -- Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan today said that in order to transform the state into a "dumping yard-free" region, a greater number of Waste-to-Energy plants are required.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan visited the Jindal Waste-to-Energy Plant located near Kondaveedu in Palnadu district. The Deputy Chief Minister thoroughly examined the entire process of generating electricity from waste and gathered detailed information regarding it.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the construction of a Waste-to-Energy plant, capable of generating one megawatt of electricity entails an estimated cost of approximately Rs 25 crores.
