New Delhi, July 28 -- The Delhi Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, today approved a proposal to increase the financial assistance provided to Kanwar committees for Kanwar Yatra 2026.
Keeping in view the growing number of devotees, the need to provide them with adequate facilities, and the rising cost of running the camps, the government has decided to enhance the grant for Kanwar camps across all categories.
The existing provision of free electricity of up to 1,200 units for Kanwar committees will also continue.
Under the Cabinet's decision, large Kanwar camps spread over more than 20,000 square feet and operating for six to twelve days will now be eligible for financial assistance of up to Rs 15 lakh.
