Vientiane, June 26 -- The National Assembly of Laos has approved ten key pieces of legislation as part of efforts to modernise the country's legal framework and support sustainable national development. The laws were passed on Wednesday during the ninth ordinary session of the Assembly's ninth legislature, chaired by Vice President Chalern Yiapaoher.
Five of the laws are newly enacted, targeting sectors seen as vital to Laos's future. These include a Law on Cybersecurity, intended to bolster digital infrastructure and guard against online threats, and a Law on Social Welfare, aimed at improving services for vulnerable groups and strengthening the national welfare system, reports Lao News Agency.
